Computer Wipeout!

Flat rate of $140 (including tax) per machine.
There is a $10 discount if the machine is brand new, right out of the box. If you order your new computer online you can have it shipped directly to our office for us to Wipeout! and then deliver to you.

The Computer Wipeout! is our most popular service. In a nutshell, over time all computers just get messy; Programs can get installed in the background that you don't even realize when you're on the internet, your kids may install programs that they shouldn't, etc. Windows will start to run slower and sloooower, and take longer and loooonger to boot up. Spyware and adware get installed, and even if you think you have removed it all there could still be bad files lurking on your machine that you don't know about.

When this happens the first thing that people think they need to do is run out and buy a new computer because theirs is "getting old" or "starting to die." This is most likely incorrect. There is probably nothing wrong with the physical computer at all, it's all the stuff installed on it that is the problem. If your machine specs are suitable for what you need it to do there's probably no reason to replace it.

This service is also recommended for newly purchased computers as well. When you buy a name-brand computer it always comes with a variety of trial internet, antivirus, security and other software installed that very few people use. Performing a Wipeout on a new computer will actually make it run better than new because all those unwanted programs are deleted.

What is included:

• Backup of existing files on the machine and verification with owner
• Format of existing drives, erasing all files
• *Reinstall of your licensed Windows operating system
• Device drivers installed for all internal system hardware
• *Reinstall of one licensed word processing suite (Microsoft Office, Word Perfect, etc.)
• Windows Update installs for all latest patches from Microsoft
• Installation of the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version)
• **Installation of antivirus software
• Setup of 1 printer directly connected (thru USB or parallel port) to the machine
• Verify computer is working on your home internet connection
• Restore the backed up files to the fresh machine.

For this service we bring the computer back to our office to perform the work. Our goal is to return the machine within 2 business days.

Any additional hardware, software, or networking needs can be performed for additional charges at an hourly rate.

Please have available all driver and software discs that came with or that you purchased for the computer being worked on, as this will expedite the reinstalling. If you do not have the software/driver discs for specific hardware there may be additional charges for the added time needed to try and locate the necessary driver files online.

* You must have a legal license sticker/card with the serial number of software that we will be reinstalling. We can assist you with purchasing licenses if you do not own them.
** If you do not own an antivirus program that has an up to date subscription for virus defintions we can assist you in purchasing a licensed version that will allow you to receive these critical updates.
